   b.  Write the correct answer
   c.  Write the reason why your answer is correct.  You might need to restate a definition or scientific principle.
   d.  Hand this paper in by Friday, Jan 8.

- Students wrote their chain of cause and effects reasoning for the explanation of why the peppered moth population changed color over time. 
- Class discussed and made sure everyone understood the conclusions the class agreed on from analyzing the data in Lesson 9.2.
- Peer reviewed each others' chains of reasoning using this rubric.
- Students write their final evidence-based explanation answering the question: "Why did the population of peppered moths change color over time?


Homework:  If you are not finished with your essay, finish it at home this weekend so we can peer review on Monday.

Discuss Lesson 5.2 to check that everyone understood that the different combinations represented gametes (sperm or eggs).  Discussed question #2 on page 58 and calculated how many possible chromosome combinations could be made when humans each have 23 pairs of chromosomes (See image below).

After our discussion, students wrote their answer to the  LS3 5.2 Assessment.docx on an index card for review by Mrs. Campbell.
