Megan Gleason, School Counselor

Megan Gleason

Welcome to my counseling page!

I’m Megan Gleason, and I’m a licensed professional school counselor at Washington Middle School of the Manitowoc Public School District. It is my hope that this page will serve as a guide for staff, students, and families about my work within the district. Above all else, I strive to ensure that each and every student is safe, connected, and engaged in school. I support students academically, emotionally, and through career development. It is my goal to build on every child’s strengths and allow them to see how they can positively contribute to society.

A Bit About Me

2019-2020 began my second year as a professional school counselor. Prior to Washington Middle School, I proudly served Kewaunee Middle School students. I truly believe that the middle school years are full of growth, independence, and positive character development!

I was born and lived in the tiny town of Necedah, WI, until my 11th birthday. My family and I moved to Sheboygan, WI, right as I started middle school, and I eventually graduated from Sheboygan North High School. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UW - Green Bay in 2015, followed by my Master of Arts in School Counseling from Lakeland University in 2018. I have been so fortunate with employment opportunities that allowed me to hone in on my skills and interests. I worked for Wisconsin Early Autism Project as an In-Home Behavioral Technician for three wonderful children, Sheboygan Area School District as a PK-12 Substitute Teacher, and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital as a Behavioral Health Treatment Assistant for inpatient adolescents. When I’m not at school, I enjoy going for walks, riding bike, watching movies, thrift shopping, reading, and trying to find my cat, Bear, in one of his hiding spots.

School counseling is my profession for a reason -- I care very much about the young adults of this community. I know that life as a middle schooler is not always easy, so I will advocate for them strongly. I can be reached at gleasonm@mpsd.k12.wi.us or 920-663-9826. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
