Mimi Munch

Reading at the Booknic!

Welcome!  I'm Mimi Munch, and this is my 24th year teaching 6th grade in the MPSD. My husband and I have lived in Manitowoc for 25 years, and some of my favorite things to do are reading, watching movies and traveling.  Some of my trips have taken me to China, Africa, Peru, Scotland and Russia.
Now that 6th grade is at the Middle School, our students have academic and more non-academic opportunities. There are new electives, as well as sports and clubs.  Plus, 6th graders have the privilege of going to Sixth Grade Camp at the School Forest.
Our students will be in a House with a common set of teachers.  I will be teaching Social Studies and ELA. In Social Studies, students learn about ancient civilizations. In English Language Arts we will be doing a lot of reading and writing including narratives, research and poetry.
Mr. Verberwede will be teaching Math and Science.  In Math they use the College Preparatory Math Series which focuses learning on group work and problem solving.  In Science, they will study Physical and Earth Science.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments throughout the year.
